Keep It Simple Stupid
«You are something the whole universe is doing in the same way a wave is something the whole ocean is doing»
Alan Watts

People fail to fully appreciate meditation because they were not guided well, and they didn't give it enough time. Like getting physically fit, it sucks a bit in the beginning, and most people give up right before they're about to see the impact.

People continue with meditation because they come to appreciate the supreme truth of mediation. "Real Silence" is the closest to reality one can get, and it's fucking awesome to experience. Also, like being physically fit, confidence¹ ² and energy increase, and one is able to retain information better.

The mind is working all day, constantly making decisions, observing, reflecting, imagining, creating, feeling, etc. Only momentarily do brainwaves drop below 4hz before raising again to REM sleep frequency.

Real Silence is rest for your brain rarely afforded, much needed, and more enjoyable than one can imagine.

Finding and maintaining Real Silence is a skill. The more you practice, the easier it is to flow into and maintain it for extended periods, in turn becoming more rewarding and appealing.

Just like any new skill, it sucks a bit in the beginning finding your flow. But with the right guidance, getting to the good part isn't so bad.

3 Ways
  • 1
    Dynamic
Running, ecstatic dancing, playing music, or any other form of action to distract you from thinking.
  • 2
    Focused
On a pain you suffer; a chakra; your breathing; a guide's voice; or some other element, thought or feeling.
  • 3
    Awareness
Observing everything at the same time, not focused nor distracted.

You mustn't lose it.»

DO, Don't "Try"
If I ask "Do you exercise?" Do you think I mean today, or in general? It's the same with meditation. Nobody says "I meditate" meaning "today".

Meditation, like brushing your teeth or exercising, is an action and a lifestyle. And, they rely on your consistency for results.

Not all toothbrushes or exercises are right for every person. You have to try different things to find a balance between what you like to do and what adds the most value to your reality. So, if you "tried" meditation 4 times and "it's just not for you" then you're letting your brain remain in control of you.

It's not meant to be easy, very few things that are really good and healthy for you are easy. Your brain is used to controlling you, and now you're trying to control it! It's going to try to trick you, distract you, control you. When you get that shit under control, and when you start to be able to breathe and taste the air, your life will change, I fucking promise you.

Now, telling you the exact amount of days it will be until your teeth are clean and healthy from brushing, or until you have six-pack abs is bullshit. What I can tell you is that around 1 month, most people can start to feel an impact.

Since 2009, I've tried lots of different types of meditation. Now, I have a little mental war chest for manifesting Real Silence, and I'm so grateful!

Here is a damn good way to help you start, or continue the path to evaluating different types of meditations' impact on you.

"A Journey" Journal
Tracking Awareness

Start a new type of meditation on a New Moon. Open a journal with 29 pages, and on the first page, write "29" and on the next "28", continue through page "1".

If you're just beginning with meditation, just schedule 20 minutes in the calendar every day for "Silence". Meditate for 15, and save 5 for writing in this journal.

Don't think. Just write whatever your feeling. It's just for you, nobody will read it and you can burn it anytime you want.

Just put the pen on the paper and write "I'm feeling..."

If you miss ONE day, you have to start all over. And, you have to wait until the next New Moon, stupid.

Do NOT do different types of meditation during this evaluation period. Try ONE type of meditation for 29 days - only then will you be able to gauge the impact of the Silence.
